Part II of... ... the Invention of Høgørøk ...an electronic hopfenpresse with an interlaced malz verduenner. Fjølsen the Shrat collected hopfen and malz flowers in the Norwegian forrest. Morten the Gamlik did abfuell it. The water was directly taken from Hjalmar Fiord - it was enough there. Then, Røbø and Høgørøk developed a marketing strategy for the new drink. The "New Cool Stuff from the North" - which at first was called Hjalmar Brew, later Høgørøk Øl - should only be sold in the area near Hjalmar Fiord. The Vikings had no good distribution structures. Iron bahn was not yet invented, also no streets. There were cars - but without wheels. And unfall rate was high because of no electric strom; after dark, one had to be careful on the highway. Between 585 and 597, absatz was bad for Høgørøk Øl. Høgørøk and his companions brewed 50 bottles a day but were drinking all stuff selber.
Before Høgørøk and his companions died, they gave the mixture of the getraenk to their children and children´s children. They wiederum - after having received the recipe from their fathers and fathers´fathers - continued brewing the famous stuff. In former times, families were bigger than today. Very soon they lost the ability of drinking all the beer alone. The Høgørøk clan made liter for liter - and they had to sell it. Being sailors in their free time, they brought the draught to other countries: Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Helgoland. After the invention of steam-driven engines, Høgørøk Øl was distributed even to East India! But soon after the Thirty Years´ War, Høgørøk was forbidden in big parts of the western world. Høgørøk Brewery had leider been on the wrong side. The production stagnated. To all overflow, 80 percent of the Høgørøk clan were wiped out by pest and cholera - which was one of the most unpleasent diseases in those days. At last, Høgørøk Øl distribution strategy went back to its roots. Only the Hjalmar Fjord area, the northern part of Finland and Malaysia were supplied with the valuable stuff. In 1997, Søren Bløjøb Håkenson - a descendant of Håken the Great - rediscovered Høgørøk Øl as a cult drink. |
